Discontinuation of Border Area Allowance to the Central Government employees

Subject: Discontinuation of Border Area Allowance to the Central Government employees serving on the International Border of Rajasthan – Implementation of Recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

Consequent upon the decisions taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission relating to Border Area Allowance, the President is pleased to discontinue the Border Area Allowance with effect from the September 1, 2008.

This allowance was admissible to Central Government employees vide O.M. No. 13(1).97-E.II.(B), dated 3-3-1999.

Subject: Discontinuation of Border Area Allowance to the Railway employees serving on the International Border of Rajasthan – Implementation of Recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission.

Consequent upon the decisions taken by the Government on the recommendations of the Sixth Central Pay Commission circulated vide Ministry of Finance (Deptt. Of Expenditure) O.M. No. 13(1)/2008-E.II.B dated 29.08.2008 relating to Border Area Allowance, Ministry of Railways in modification of their letter No.E(G)95/AL12-2 dated 21.06.1999 have decided to discontinue the Border Area Allowance with effect from the September 1, 2008.

This has the sanction of the President and issues with the concurrence of the Finance Directorate of the Ministry of Railways.
