FM: Prime Minister Approves the Constitution of Seventh Central Pay Commission; Recommendations are Likely to be implemented with effect from 1st January, 2016

The Finance Minister Shri P.Chidambaram in a statement said here today that the Prime Minister has approved the constitution of the Seventh Central Pay Commission.

The fourth, fifth and sixth Central Pay Commissions’ recommendations were implemented as follows:
4th CPC                       1.1.1986
5th CPC                       1.1.1996
6th CPC                       1.1.2006

The average time taken by a Pay Commission to submit its recommendations has been about two years.  Accordingly, allowing about two years for the 7th CPC to submit its report, the recommendations are likely to be implemented with effect from 1.1.2016.

The names of the Chairperson and members as well as the terms of reference (ToR) of the 7th Pay Commission will be finalised and announced shortly after consultation with major stakeholders.

There is a very huge gap in the salary and facilities of a class one employee and a class iv employee in India. It clearly shows that class 1 employees are masters and Class iv employee are slaves in India and we are following the rules of GULAM BHART of BRITISH era. If a class iv employee cannot do the work of a class I officer then it is also hard truth that class I employee can not do the work of a class IV employee. We acknowledge the work done by the class one employee but work done by the class iv employee also should be acknowledged. We should have a right of equality as per our constitution. We all collectively should think and work sincerely about this matter and we must approach to the 7th pay commission and government (who always talk to minimize difference between RICH AND POOR) to minimize the salary difference between different category of employees in India. You all are requested to write your views on this matter.

as it is the difference is less. Cabinet secretary gets Rs 90000/- basic whereas his salary should be in crores. when compared with any ceo of a multinational firm his salary looks so meager. A driver in a central govt service gets Rs 20-30 thousand when compared to his counterparts outside govt service the govt driver gets 4-5 times the salary. Class iv employees have no case!!!
